Ms Bootblack Glasgow is a bootblack contest. While the contest itself is for dykes in and around Glasgow, this event is for attendees across the UK. This is the page to jo in as an attendee; if you want to join as a contestant, sign up here by 27th September. Please note that thi s is an 18+ event (as it is in a bar), and also that it is not a play even t (as it is in a bar).
1–5pm: Bootblack contestants will be d oing tech boots and technical interviews on the mezzanine for part of this time. Mostly this will be social time for attendees, with the opportunity to chat to the contestants, judges*, and other leatherdykes from across t he UK.
5–6pm: Break for dinner. Food will be available at Gam e Over.
6–10pm: Open stand time. The contestants will take pa rt in a public stand where attendees can get their leathers cared for. Thi s will resemble one of our usual bar nights though the focus will still be the contest.
10–11pm: Judges* will finalise and tally scores . There will be a public Q&A with the contestants while this is going on.
11pm: Announcement of the contest winner. Ms Bootblack Gl asgow will address the crowd.
Leather & denim strongl y encouraged. While we are a leatherdyke organisation and this event is still a leatherdyke space, we appreciate that it takes people from acro ss different leather communities to make something like this work. As such , this event is for anyone who can authentically and respectfully engage w ith this leatherdyke culture, and the title holder will be expected to rep resent Glasgow leatherdykery including to people who may themselves not be leatherdykes (yet!).
Since this is a ticketed event, we rese rve the right to refund tickets or bar entry to anyone for any reason, esp ecially if we believe they are not acting in good faith.

Give your leather or latex some expert care at the Bootblack Station. Choose your bootblack, discuss the experience y ou want and enjoy the personal connection that comes with the craft.
Tipping is a long-standing tradition that recognises the time, skill and personal investment involved. A suggested minimum of €10 per serviced item is recommended, though generosity is always appreciated. Half of all tips support the Bootblack Europe 2026 travel fund and the remaining half is d ivided equally among the contestants.
